I say average to Yamamori because although the food is good, there is NO excuse for the prices, especially where the sushi is concerned!

I really like this place - the food is fresh and vibrant, and I find it very well priced! I especially love the big bento box - more food than you could wish for. Tends to get very busy, but staff are on the top of their game and always good. All in all, very good consistent quality and good value for money, especially if you go for the Bento! read more >>

I LOVE their lunch time bento special. such an amazing combination of flavours for €16. cannot be beaten for sheer value. I always go to the restaurant on gorges street when I'm in dublin for the day. Their sushi is probably the best in the city and reasonably priced. again, love this place. 5 out of 5 for me! read more >>

I love the diversity of this place. My fiance and I went here on our very first date and it was a very suitable setting for a nice dinner.
More recently we've come after being out for a few beers. It's the perfect place to come into around 11pm and get a decent bite to eat that you won't regret the following day.
The food is always to a high standard and the drinks are very nice too. I'm fond of the Asai Beer while my Fiance enjoys the Plum Wine. read more >>

OMG, I cannot believe I haven't thought about reviewing Yamamori. Shame on me. The most visually attractive, and astethic looking front to any premises in Georges St.
I have alwas eaten here for Dinner whenever the need came upon me for excellent Japanese cuisine. It is a place where you have to bring someone with you. It is a warm inviting cosy space which is best enjoyed in the company of a goup, or a date for the evening!
Menu is a joy to read, and the choice and selection available caters to all tastes. Pick anything and you won't be let down. My preference is Sashimi, with the Norimaki a close second. Ramens are nicely constructed, again my favourite is the Yamamori Ramen. exquisite balance between the crispy tofu, and that sweet pork and chicken stock, mixed with succulent King Prawns, and char-grilled Chicken.
It is a little difficult to get in to, and the wait can be a little tiresome, but once you're in you cannot help just relax and pick away at the myriad of dishes. Oriental Cooking at it's best.
Best value is between two, especially if you're on that date! Perhaps try a Ebi Tempura, with Ginger and Soy Dip, the Snapper Ni-Mono, and the Yaki Udon Noodles.
Wash down with a crisp Japenese beer, or a sweet Sancerre, contemplate dessert, or just head home for a well deserved early night! read more >>

Yamamori noodles does not only make noodles but also Sushi and of course other food.
I love the food in this place and the service is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.
The restaurent is covered with Graham Knuttel paitings which makes a wonderfull atmostphear.
One negative thing is the benches! If you do not get a table with chairs, you get to sit on the benches and they are really Uncomfortable !
I am a fan, but they could get some better chairs/tabels. read more >>

Great place, great sushi served by friendly staff, but what will always bring me back to this place is the incredible Seafood Ramen, a single serving could easily do 2 people (but I am greedy so i have it all for myself) A soup with ramen noodels and a melody of seafood cooked with mild spices and oriental herbs. Possibly my favourite non Irish Stew or Coddle - the rest of menu is excellent with the futomaki being particularly good read more >>

I went to the Lower Ormond Quay location and will definitely be back! I chose a simple salmon and avocado sushi roll as it was my first time there and I wasn't sure how good and fresh their sushi was, but I was very impressed. I can't wait to go back and try more complex rolls. My friend had the lunch special of the day which was noodles and a variety of seafood - soo delicious and fresh! It was a large portion and also came with a fairly large salad. Next time I will be trying their dessert as well as the couple next to us had two huge treats that looked and smelled delicious! I am looking forward to going back when the weather is nicer as they have a nice patio in back to dine al fresco. read more >>

First of all, "Yamamori" means "Plenty" in Japanese so if you are small eater, you should skip starters!
Although their foods are nice, I don't feel I can relax and enjoy the food. Tables are too close to each other and some strangers could sit right beside you...
Sushi is nice but too expensive to me. read more >>

I do come to Yamamori from time to time for lunch. Generally it's reasonably good - but today it was woeful. Service just wasn't there, one waiter told us to "just wait a moment" when we asked if we could order food being sat down for almost 20 minutes. My sparkling water disappeared somewhere along the way, but since it had taken us so long to get what we did get I wasn't going to push it. Our meals came out at different times and I had to flag down a waiter to ask for a clean spoon. Today's food just didn't quite seem up to it either- a green chicken curry in a bento box that tasted more like green sludge stew (and how does one eat curry with chopsticks??? good thing I kept my soup spoon!) The tempura fish was lovely though. Paying presented us with another nightmare, about 15 minutes and three attempts to finally get a bill. The only good thing was that they didn't charge for the water that hadn't arrived. So overall, if this had been my first visit I would never set foot in the place again. read more >>

I had lunch in Yamamori again today and once again I was not disappointed. Everything about the place is class, the Teriyaki is brilliant. The only drawback would be the waiting times, which I suppose cannot be avoided, but they are the only reason I don't eat here for lunch more often. read more >>

Went there last night for a quick bite and ordered a bento box. I've had them lots of times before but this one was a bit unappetising - there were fully shelled prawns thrown on it - eyes and feelers and all and this very strange soup with brown mince swimming in it...just didn't appeal to me. Service was spot on though. read more >>

I am not a fan of Sushi at all so that part of Yamamori noodle, didnt appeal to me. But one of my favourite dishes is anything with Noodle :) so this would be the place I would go, the stff are very friendly but there is a bit of a language barrier but you get over that quick enough. Would definitely go back. I also love the layout of the restuarant. went for a romantic dinner to Yamamori on Lower Ormond Quay and must say that it was a total miss. I love sushi and was very excited to have it again. Went here last night and was pretty happy with the experience. I was surprised at how packed it was at 8 on a wednesday night and was glad I had booked ahead. The restaurant has a mixture of long bench seats and booths and regular tables but all were full last night.
The food was really good, a little more than average prices but it was worth it. I had the salmon teryaki and it was tasty, would definitely recommend it.
After sharing a few starters between five of us and two bottles of wine the bill was nearly €40 each just to give you an idea of price.
Definitely check it out and enjoy! read more >>
