My favourite chinese restaurant in Cork. The place has a nice atmosphere, the staff are always friendly and their curry is the best I've ever had!

My friend loves this place and I've had the lunch special there with her a few times. It's a 4 course meal for less than €15, I don't remember the exact price but you get starter, main course, dessert and tea or coffee for that so it's excellent value. The lunch menu has been the same forever, they don't update it. It's upstairs, I don't think there's a lift so no disabled access, awkward for people with buggies. read more >>
This is possible corks oldest and best known chinese restaurant and if you like chinese food then you will probably be happy enough with the extensive menu which is pretty reasonable priced. I do think this place is slightly over rated tho, the decor hasn't been changed in at least 15 years and the staff have that horrible fake smile branded on their faces which freaks me out. read more >>
The pearl river has been open for business for over 20 years and has a large number of regular customers who go there. As chinese restaurants go, its pretty good. The food is tasty and plentiful, the staff are friendly and the prices are fairly reasonable. However, i have been to better chinese restaurants in Cork and would probably choose one of those over the pearl river.
P.S. - I have heard some bad stories about the kitchens in the pear river from some pretty reliable sources. Have a look at the other chinese restaurants on my restaurant list. read more >>
Have been to the Pearl River many times and have yet to be disappointed. The Restaurant has been open for years proving how popular it is and how good the food is. Lot of choice on the menu and their Curry is fantastic

The food here is excellent. Wouldn't go anywhere else for chinese food. The portions are huge so it's value for money. The restaurant is not the nicest in terms of decor (but that's just my personal tast) but it is extremely clean :) read more >>
