Absolutely appalling place. I had to send back the cutlery because it had dried food stuck to it. The service is beyond description and the price of the poor selection of wines (1 house white and 1 house red) extortionate. The food is in my opinion poor andIf you want any drinks apart from the wine you need to buy it in the bar upstairs. If you are a fan of karaoke go for it, but if you appreciate your health, do skip the food. All in all, an absolutely painful experience. read more >>
Had a fab night here. We skipped the food and just hired the karaoke for an hour, our room had disco lights, mirrors, it was hilarious. You can even call the bar from the room to order more drinks. In the room we were provided with a leather bound book of songs to choose from, half the book is in Chinese half in English. Choice wasn't great but its only for fun so we found a few tunes we knew. When you are being ushered to your own private little room you pass other rooms along the corridor, people fairly tanked up having a great time howling "My Way". Good night out, would recommend! read more >>
Proving that Capel street is the most eclectic street in Dublin, Melody is a fantastic mix of karaoke bar and traditional Chinese restaurant. We went there not really knowing what the deal was, but basically you have a room all to yourself, including a large round table with revolving centre so you can pass dishes to youreself. Add to that the lethal karaoke machine in the corner and a recipe for a good night is complete. The machines have a strange selection of music, ranging from asian music to standard rock fare (but when we were there they didnt seem to have bohemian rhapsody) - the food was suprisingly good as well, with the duck pancakes being exceptional. We haggled a bit on the price of the room (cant remember exactly what it was) - and found the staff to be fantastically helpful. Not somewhere to go every week, but a good fun spot none the less read more >>
