Stayed here last night. Very reasonable bed and breakfast rate. Friendly staff, The decor and grounds of this castle are amazing. An excellent choice for peace and relaxation
I love Markree castle. It has a lovely drive up to it, and as soon as you go in it is quite enchanting. I adore the entrance with the staircase and the giant fireplace. There are plenty of places to sit, or escape to should you need to. I always want to go there, sit down with a good book and have a scone. They serve afternoon tea, but I think if I went again I'd stick with the 2 scones cheaper option, as I wasn't a fan of the other items that came out. All in all, lovely place. Have to try the food yet, it used to be lovely but haven't been in years so I'll leave it til another time! Only criticism is that it's sometimes hard to find the bar staff or waiters to take your order. read more >>
