I have great memories of visiting here as a young boy.The animals are nearly all free to roam the fields and the setting is extremely picturesque. The restaurant has good food to suit all ages and there are some great souvenirs also. read more >>
My parents brought me here alot as I was growing up.This Wildlife Park is set on Fota Island in Cork Harbour.Perhaps what is so special about it , is not just the scenic location but also the fact that the barriers between animals and humans are broken down as you literally step into the territory of free roaming animals without the constraints of a cage. read more >>
Fantastic place to bring the kids. Its not far from cork city at all and really makes for a great day out. Some of the wildlife are roaming around the grounds, the dangerous ones are all behind fences and can't get at you. Its really nice and the kids get so curious and interested in all of the animals. read more >>
This is a great place for a day out and a big hit with families. It's great to see animals out in the fields apart from the tigers who are behind a screen. The restaurant provides a variety of options to suit most pockets. Nice countryside walkways. read more >>
Great day out for all the family, lovely place, kids love it - plenty of space but not too big so it won't tire the little ones out. Definetly worth a visit

fantastic day out for the family. wildlife out in the open. very well set up. stunning location. fab fab fab. if you're going to be visiting there more than a couple of times a year, the family pass is very good value and works out much cheaper than paying each time. the seal is my favourite. they do a cheetah run at 4pm, where you can see a cheetah in action at dinner time. read more >>
After Blarney Castle, fota wildlife park is probably the most famous of cork attractions. Only 15 mins from the city on the way to cobh by car or alternatively you can get the train. It's a fantastic family/couples day out and not too expensive if you buy the year family pass. Whilst the more dangerous animals are fenced in, the less ferocious roam free giving a better feel for the wild then a normal zoo. Being spat at by llamas is fun if you're 5 or 50. The oasis cafe provides a variety of food but you're free to bring your own picnic and you may be joined by peckish peacocks. The grounds at fota house are free to walk around in and you can bring your dog (not into the wildlife park though). There's a gift shop at the exit and they have a good website with options for adopting animals (not to take home). read more >>
this is a great day out, espically if you've got kids
there's acres for them to run around in (tho when you're not used to more than 1 kids it's tough to keep an eye on all of them....... dunno how my mother did it)
some of the tamer animals are also wandering around on the grounds aswell and because they are so used to visitors they tend to be a bit cheeky and try stealing stuff so if you're kids aren't the bravest you may want to keep them close
loads of animals, loads to learn (if you want) and a few playgrounds dotted around the place coz god knows kids can have a short attention span with the aminals
well worth the trip down to carrigtwohill........ aswell as being accessable via train (rare enough in cork sadly) read more >>
