Eason's Street in O'Connell Street is right at the heart of Dublin City Centre. It's a great book store, with everything that you could possibly want, also loads of magazines both international and domestic covering everything from gossip to fly fishing, if they don't have it they prob don't make it... Unusually up the third floor there's actually a Tower Records which sells all the latest indie/rock/pop tunes that are popular with the kids these days ;P highly recommended! read more >>

Awful service. Staff act like it's a chore to help you. They never have the book I'm looking for, never! The only good thing about Easons is their stationery department and because of that they get one star otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. read more >>

They have pretty much any book you want. Although it is massive, you might want to ask a staff member for help in finding a book, as it is so big. Staff are friendly too and you can pick up everything from books to stationary to CDs and DVDs. read more >>

Really good selection of books and a nice stationary section upstairs. HOWever, they are ridiculously (and I mean ridiculously) expensive. Books are nearly always full price or even more expensive. I popped into waterstones and got 2 cookbooks for less than what one alone in easons cost. They need more special offers that are actually decent and not buy 3 for 2 on a ridiculously rubbish range of books. read more >>

I really like this branch of Eason's, and I find it almost impossible to go in here and not go to the cafe upstairs (some amazing sea views!). In general the selection is quite good, not huge but good enough to be a good substitute if you can't get to the massive Eason's on O'Connell Street. read more >>

I'm reviewing the cafe, not the shop. I had lunch here last week. I got the stuffed chicken with veg. The portion wasn't fantastic but it was ok for lunch. Prices vary but lunch usually cost around a tenner. The soft drinks are very overpriced.. 2.10 for a 500ml bottle! They do have nice looking cakes and buns though... Its a popular place for the oldest generation.... read more >>

Its very hard to avoid going into Easons for a browse when in the shopping centre. They have a big selection of magazines and books on the ground floor and plenty of stationary and cards upstairs. Not my kinda book shop... This place is just too big and its kind of hard to find anything. The staff are not really that helpful and it just doesn't have the same character as chapters. Trying to find a magazine can be really hard work, first you have to push through all the free loaders who spend their day standing and reading magazines for free and then you have to try and find the right section. i really don't like this store. read more >>

Besides the fact this Easons is huge another thing I like about it is the cafes. There's one at the top at Tower Records, where you get a really good view of the ever-bustling O'Connell Street but my favourite is the one on the ground floor. It's smaller and quieter, and you're surrounded by books there too! Okay, so maybe it's school books you're surrounded by, but it's still a great atmosphere!. read more >>

Really handy local Easons for when you can't get to O'Connell Street. Very reliable for art materials, there's an extensive range of paints and cardboards. There's also an impressive selection of both specialist and generic magazines on the ground floor, along with a quality selection of foreign newspapers including The Guardian and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (both of which I buy regularly). The first floor plays host to a basic but satisfactory range of books. As I said above, very useful for when you can't get to the larger Easons on O'Connell Street. read more >>

Eason's is great for their range of weekly magazine and up to the minute books in the best sellers list, They have a good selection of cards and stationary but nothing that can't be bought for slightly cheaper in Reads.
The addition of a cafe and Tower Records into the building has certainly helped but the basement area's book lack the detail and depth that is needed for academia. Better off going to Waterstone's for a specific book you need.
At this stage it seems that Eason's could be more of a meeting point than anything else. read more >>

I find Easons just ok as a shop. At least compared to Borders which sadly closed in Blanchardstown last year. Easons is in the higher price end in terms of books/stationery, and you would probably find stationery cheaper elsewhere. You will find a reasonalble choice of books though, and there always seems to be one around in shopping centres, so I tend to go there as a matter of convenience, even though I know I'm probably going to be ripped off. read more >>
