Lunch heavy handed and old fashioned - especially fish which, even if delicate like lemon sole, is certain to come overcooked in heavy batter.
Finally- bored stiff- I asked for a just ice cream (rather than ice cream with etc. etc.)to finish...and...guess what?...I was charged extra!...yes...extra because I did not ask for a set item with ice cream.
I'd expect this from low end traders.

This is a great place.The choice on the menu and the food was wonderfully presented. The Service was good and found the waiters very jovial and jolly.For desert go for the sticky toffee pudding which is out of this world.

I was here for Lunch in early November and was suprised at how busy it was. Have to say the food was really nice and we had the lunch set menu. The pork belly was especially nice. I think that Dobbins has lost some of it';s atmosphere since they did it up but it does feel a good deal "cleaner" now. read more >>
I have eaten at Dobbins a number of times and have taken business colleagues there for dinner. The service has been excellent and the food nicely prepared and presented. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food compared to a number of other restaurants. I had their crab cake and filet the last time I visited and enjoyed them both. Aside from the fact that the location is a little tough to find-tucked away on a side street-it was overall a nice experience that I will repeat. read more >>
