On a warm sunny day, you can guarantee St. Stephen's Green Park will be filled to its edges with people lounging, eating, and soaking in the sun. The green is beautiful with water, flowers, and swans. It is a brilliant place to capture special occasion photographs, like a wedding. Whether you're looking for a place to stroll, lay out, or take a lunch break, St. Stephen's Green is one of the best attractions in Dublin city. read more >>
Kilmainham Gaol on Inchicore Rd. contains loads of Irish history and facts. Lead by a tour guide only, large groups are able to learn of the conditions and treatment Irish men, women, and children received decades ago. The jail still has many original pieces to it, including grafitti and furniture. I recommend the tour to history buffs, tourists, and locals looking to cement the history of the Eater Rising in their minds. read more >>
Don't get the picture of a mansion style, royal castle in your mind, but the Dublin Castle is still a lovely place to see and visit. Guided tour tickets are 4 euro for adults and 3.50 euro for students. The notably knowledgable tour guides bring the large groups behind the scenes of the history and significance of the castle. The decor in each room is extravagant and unique in its own right. The last stop on the tour is to the remains of the castle dating back to the 13th century. It is fascinating to see the original slanted walls of the exterior, as well as the small sized stairs of the interior. The duration of the tour is approximately an hour, but can be extended if you find yourself shopping in the castle's gift shop or grabbing a bite to eat or cup of tea in its own cafe! read more >>
