This place is not great and it's got a lot of very negative reviews on other sites. It's very like Fawlty Towers, I expected to see Basil Fawlty pop up somewhere.
The hotel has two different parts, the ori
ginal old wing that's very shabby, dirty, stained and frayed carpets, shoddy furniture etc and then the newer wing. It's become a bit of a wedding factory.
We stayed here and our very first impression was shocking to see a waiter and receptionist having a bit of a barny in the reception area as we were entering the hotel. The receptionist was the rudest, most unhelpful receptionist I've ever encountered. Most of the other staff were lovely.
The best thing was the restaurant though the decor was a bit like how you'd imagine a tart's boudoir, the food was excellent.
When we stayed here there were 2 big dogs that had the run of the place, that spent their time lounging on the furniture in the public areas so a lot of dog hair floating around. read more >>
