Highlight for me is the Marks and Spencer. There is not enough variety of shops in the arcade, especially with Watersatones gone no bookshop of any description. Hoever it is clean, and the opening hours are convenient.

The little Cork ladies in this pharmacy have no problem walking over to you and snapping items out of your hand — in the manner of hungry mongrel dogs — when you pick them off a shelf. I’ve also experienced older slack-jawed Cork ladies at this in other shops so the young ones are probably being taught it at home or else it’s hardwired into their genes – like the saying, kickity horse, kickity foal.
These youths, when they get a job in a pharmacy or any other such place, are probably told that they should keep an eye out for thieves. And these consanguineous Cork fools then treat every person who walks through the door as if the have shop lifter tattooed on their forehead. Instructing or teaching these halfwits, in any way, and expecting them to act normally would be similar to trying to train a monkey to wash dishes without him/her smashing them on the floor – you’d probably only be successful with one in fifty – a generous estimate.
Another unique Cork custom is how these halfwit natives develop their gigantic egos when they get, what the view, as a very important job – serving customers in a pharmacy, they believe, is on a par with doing brain surgery. After half an hour behind any type of counter they come to think they own the place and then embark on throwing their weight around – like the saying, give a brainless beggar a horse and he’ll ride all over you.
One outstanding and inimitable male moron who works in this place had a habit of walking up to people on the streets and arrogantly looking them up and down.
This is a special Cork/Kerry trait which can be seen regularly along the City’s streets. I used to think that the retards that practiced it were on temporary release from a mental home, but this Boots’ idiot proved me wrong. It had died out recently because Eastern Europeans viewed it as racist and subsequently beat-up some of the morons who engaged in it. It has now resurfaced because of our penury - most migrants have left – and the moronic natives now feel safe and are having another go at it, as only witless imbeciles would. It seemingly boosts these gombeen’s egos – when they can get away with it – and similar traits can be observed in troops of mountain monkeys as they compete for hierarchical positions.
Another trait common with Cork City natives is to veer across a pavement towards other people in an attempt to get them to jump aside. You’ll see well dressed natives, both male and female, trying this out – a good few have ended up lying on the footpath with their slack-jawed mouths open – and again, it seems to be a way of boosting their self esteem.
This last trait would be too much for even monkeys as they wouldn’t be inbred or stupid enough. read more >>

I love this street, it's so full of life. I just wish the buskers were all great. Some greats (eg Rodrgio y Gabriella) but it is let down by the throngs of buskers who paint themselves and just stand still and the 13 year olds who feel busking is an electric guitar, and an amp with the distortion turned up. Some great shops on here too, I guess it is our main shopping street. read more >>

I used to live near this shopping centre and it was handy to have nearby because you could pop over for macdonalds, phq, tesco etc. But to be honest as a shopping centre goes this isn't great as there isnt much else in there. The penny's is one of those really old dated ones. Considering this is practically around the corner from Dundrum (5 min drive) its not great. read more >>

Grafton Street is like the Irish equivalent to the Champs Elysee in the sense that it is a really famous street in Dublin, in fact it's nothing like the Champs Elysee so let's just forget i said it. So anyway it9;s always packed with tourists and it's famous for having Ireland's Brown Thomas (like Harvey Nichols, only Irish). From the statue of Molly Malone at one end to St Stephen's Green at the top it's a mecca for visitors to Ireland.
When I was a wee one my Mum and Dad used to bring my sister down here every Christmas to see the lights and window displays i still love seeing them every Christmas (both the lights and my parents :)) read more >>

Grafton Street is the heart of Dublin City Centre. Many of the shops have been taken over by UK chains, but the character has not changed. The street entertainment is brilliant, you never know what you might see on a stroll down the street. Decent selection of shops, a lot of womens boutiques but plenty of menswear, record shops and sports shops for men to enjoy too. read more >>

I like Henry Street, because of how close it is to Moore Street you get a lot of 'proper Dubs' in the area and the strong accents can be a bit amusing. It can be a bit rough in the evenings but there's a good selection of shops in the area and it is a nice street. It's absolute mayhem in December - all the stalls spill out on to the street so you get a lot of people calling out their special offers and trying to get you to their stall. It is a good street - certainly has a lot of character! read more >>

A massive campaign is under way to change the name of Henry street. Most people are not aware that the street was named after Thiery Henry, but since the famous 'Hand of Frog' goal public opinion has changed and the renaming of the street is on the cards. A decision will not be made on the name change until the Dail is back in session, which will happen after their 18 month 'summer' holidays.
The beeks in the Department of Street names are set to argue over the name; favourites at this stage are 3-Toblerone-for-a-euro Street and Britttnee-get-back-over-here-NOW Street.. Other Henry street things. The once mighty Arnotts AreNot doing very well, and have lost over €85 billion in the last 3 weeks. Arnotts predicted another terrible summer and bought a massive consignment of Duffel Coats in May, the unusual 'alright' Irish summer weather meant that sales were low and they lost out big style. read more >>

Lots of variety here, it's a lovely place to shop. I'm not too fond of the St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre on the end of the street but the street itself is great. There is a nice little gem of an antique store behind Bewley's that I was in, some good deals in there. Topman is awful dear though, compared to my local store in Galway. There are plenty of places to eat too. read more >>

The highlight of Grafton street is Stephens green at the top of it. As well as being a lovely street to shop on with Brown Thomas and Bewleys to name but 2 of its inhabitants, perhaps what adds more character still is the little side streets running off Grafton street which make GRafton street unfold to its explorers as a lovely narrative of Dublin. read more >>

I love Grafton Street, its located on the south side and a much better/pleasant experience to shop on compared with henry st. There is a great choice of shops, restaurants/cafes, and street characters from time to time. Its a lovely street to stroll on even if you aren't shopping. There is a huge mix of people shopping on this street so forget the stereotype, sure you will bump into a couple of the stereotypical southsiders on the street but why let that ruin your shopping experience. I like Grafton Street for a nice days browsing on a sunny day. Besides the great selection of shops all on one street, you can enjoy some on street entertainment of varying quality! Usually there are musicians, human statues and artists, you may find the occasional celeb or too wandering grafton street so keep the eyes peeled! I am not a huge fan of the Jervis Shopping Centre. Don't get me wrong, it has lots of great stores but I never enjoy shopping here, probably due to the crowd it attracts. There is some good shops such as Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins. The Topshop store is upstairs and really modern and well laid out, you can take the escalator in Topman up to Topshop which I like. Theres usually stalls in the middle with dodgy looking people trying to sell skincare, gadgets and sometimes beauty products. The toilets are clean but the longest walk I have ever taken to get to a toilet inside a shopping centre! I like that M&S is right beside it though :) read more >>

In fairness the square has everything you need. It has Dunnes, Tesco and Debenhams which other shopping center has all 3?? it has a decent easons and hmv even though it used to have a huge Virgin store a few years ago the hmv isn't bad and it also has game, extra game and game stop. It has a fair amount of jewelery stores.. I think 4, it has a Boots and other chemists, a PC world, sony centre and a camera center and most of the bigger name fashion stores, river island, new look etc and sports shops. It also has shops like Hickeys which you don't find many of and a camping store. It also has a decent amount of places to eat. There is an M&S, Captain Americas and starbucks just outside the SQ now too so nobody can really fault it for what it has its just the look of it thats not great but they are doing it up. It doesn't have a cinema anymore but they are supposed to be opening a Pennys here which would be huge and a big incentive to go to the SQ more often. read more >>

Forget, if you will, the common stereotype of the Grafton Street person. While it is well known as the uppity shopping area of the city, with its BTs and the like, it has in more recent years become more of a mixed bag, with the likes of McDonalds and regular newagents. Thats what I like about Grafton St, is the mix of people and the hustle and bustle of the place. Its a great spot for people watching, as well as grabbing some entertainment from the many performers. read more >>

As a huge fan of cosmetics I don't rate this branch of Boots at all. It's small and old fashioned compared with many other branches of Boots. The ailes are really narrow and the selection of products and brands is basic. Totally ok if you just want toothpaste, shower gel and deodorant but there's nothing there to excite product junkies. The perfume, baby and electrical selections are tiny and I've often found the staff to be unfriendly. Best thing about shopping here is that you can get Advantage card points. read more >>
